The Middlebury Union Cemetery Board of Directors will meet Tues., April 29, at the home of President Colleen Houghtaling to conduct business. Bids for mowing and general clean-up will be opened and voted on at that time. For information on placing a bid on mowing the cemetery, contact President Houghtaling at 570-376-3361 (d) / 570-376-2821 (e). by Mar. 31, 2003. A new bulletin board has been erected at the Main Gate of the Cemetery. The Board of Directors will post meeting notices, burial & planting policies, previously sold lots for sale, clean-up schedules, and the like. Please keep watch for updates concerning this important new addition to the cemetery. Donations are graciously accepted by the Middlebury Union Cemetery to help offset the rising cost of upkeep. The Board of Directors are committed to making the cemetery as aesthetically pleasing as possible. As there are many graves more than a century old in portions of our cemetery, we find it necessary to repair or replace headstones and foundations periodically.
